Tower Technician

North Peak Telecom is looking for a Tower Technician to join our team.  As part of the team, you would assist in all aspects of telecom tower, equipment and building construction, dressing, installs and maintenance. 

The Tower Technician position can be challenging at times, but we believe you will be successful in this role if you are willing to work in a team environment and have a good sense of humor and work ethic.

Job Functions
•    Climbing towers and ladders at various heights · 
•    Construction of various tower types using cranes, gin poles, helicopters · 
•    Off-loading material and inventory
•    Installation and maintenance of RF infrastructure - towers, antennas (VHF, UHF, cellular, FM broadcast and microwave), lighting systems
•    Assist in the installation of all aspects of foundations, grounding and conduits, with electrical installations where applicable
•    Perform inspections, troubleshooting and repairs
•    Following of Fall Safety procedures    

Skills
•    Comfortable and proficient working at heights 
•    Proficient understanding and use of hand and power tools 
•    Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions 
•    Ability to read a compass, set azimuths and down tilts per specifications 
•    Ability to read and interpret various plans 
•    Reliable, punctual and accountable 
•    Line sweep and testing knowledge an asset    

Qualifications
•    Valid driver’s license and clean driving record 
•    The ability to pass a Criminal Record check and Drug, Alcohol and Fitness Testing 
•    3-5 years of experience performing the above job functions preferred 
•    Prior training in Fall Protection, Rescue, First Aid/CPR, H2S, CSTS with a working knowledge of safety standards and regulations in Alberta is an asset    

Working Conditions and Physical Demands
•    Must be able to work overnights and weekends as needed (Live Out Allowance paid for overnights)
•    Must be willing to work in all weather conditions when required 
•    Must be willing to travel around Alberta as required 
•     Must be in good physical condition with the ability to bend, twist, squat and lift 50lbs
